I am very pleased with how this product has held up over the years and in the sun, cold, and extreme heat. I use it to cast my own ears as an actor at the Ohio Renaissance Festival. Hope to see you there! “renfestival. com”(Casting molds require sculpting “Oil Based Sulfur Free Clay” then casting the sculpture with a “Smooth-On silicone mold”. After you have your mold made mix this “Mehron light flesh” with “Graftobian latex” together and pour-apply 4 to 7 layers for desired results. For casting latex molds, use Mehron light flesh latex as a pigment and pour 1/3 of the bottle into a new bottle of Graftobian latex. Graftobian is an extremely watery-thin ‘clear’ latex [do not use it by itself]. Once you mix this Mehron light flesh color into the Graftobian it makes the perfect thickness and base color for casting. Using together will allow a sturdy. For best results use Skin Illustrator’s colorless loose powder over top any latex you apply or set into a mold. It will give a protective barrier and prevent it from sticking to itself and ruining your project.I wish you all the best in your latex projects.

I did not receive the Mehron Liquid Latex pictured above. What I received was an alternative brand called Cinema Secrets that was labeled mehron on an outside packaging. Though the item may work the same I do not like being duped. I did product research before I purchased and was expecting a specific brand.

I have bought different liquid latex body paint before for body art purposes, but this is the first skin tone latex I’ve bought for prosthetic purposes, and I have to say I love it! It’s not super thin like some clear liquid latex (or even pigmented body latex) I’ve bought before, and it dries fast with a blow dryer. The dried color is only slightly darker than the color shown and any body paint will go right over it.. It will also wash right off of the latex as well. I used this for prosthetic gills and scales for a mermaid photo shoot, and it worked great with tons left over! Also I didn’t have to use spirit gum.. I just dabbed the same latex on my skin, and it adhered to itself better than the spirit gum did. I was also able to save the prosthetics for future use. The body paint comes right off with soap and water. I am extremely satisfied with Mehron products and this one is no different. I’d recommend this to anyone wanting to try their hand at working with a great quality & versatile liquid latex. Thank you Mehron!

I’m not exactly sure what game they’re playing but if I order a specific liquid latex I expect to receive that in the mail. I ordered mehron liquid latex because I researched and found that it is more pleasant to use around the eyes and mouth. I don’t appreciate receiving my package and having some random unknown product in the box. When I researched what they gave me, cinema secrets liquid latex, a lot of people said it it very strong in ammonia and wouldn’t reccomend it. Also, the pricing seems to be a few dollars cheaper. I didn’t pay $15 to receive a $10 product.

This has a very thick consistency which makes it hard to work with. I got it to try to cover a nostril piercing so I could put makeup on it and hide it. It does work OK, but the thickness makes it lumpy and it’s hard to feather out the edges. It’s not as discreet as one would like. If you’re trying to go for effect makeup, like a scar or zombie face or something, it would work for that. Smooth to lumpy is ok, but not so much lumpy to smooth. It starts out very light beige and turns a bit darker and yellower as it dries. It’s by no means my (or most people’s) skin tone, so I think you’d have to put makeup on top no matter what. It does dry quickly, and is flexible and easy to remove.

I went as a Zombie for Halloween – first time I used liquid latex and it was very easy. Went to a kickboxing class dressed up and despite jumping around and sweating the makeup still looked great at the end of the class!!

I have been a professional face painter for many years but, just recently started teaching myself about special f/x. At first, I used some cheap liquid latex from the costume store near me but, I didn’t like it at all so I went ahead and ordered this instead. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised! It dries pretty quickly, sticks to toilet paper/cotton balls/etc easily, and can be painted on. It doesn’t have ammonia in it like the other stuff did. The light colored flesh works great with my pale skin and, in the end, I came up with some pretty sick looking wounds! I would definitely recommend this over the cheap stuff. Especially if you are looking for liquid latex to use professionally.

Easy to use, even for a beginner to spfx makeup. I bought to create a specific look for a costume I had made, but I’ve used it a lot since to practice all of the different effects you can create with latex. It does have an odor to it, as all latex will, but it’s not unbearable. The color is a little dark on me, but most people aren’t quite as fair as I am so I imagine this is probably close to a “nude” color on a lot of people. I would’ve gone with a lighter shade, but the same sized bottle in this beige color was a full $12 cheaper than in white, and since I’m covering everything with makeup anyway it didn’t seem worth the extra cost to have a closer match. The consistency is fantastic! It stays liquid long enough to manipulate it where you need it, but dries quickly enough that it won’t take you all day to create a few basic effects. And it doesn’t start to fall off halfway through your day like some other brands I’ve tried. I’ve even re-used appliances I created with it with great success. This brand is pricey, but you absolutely get what you pay for when it comes to spfx makeup. I’ve used the cheap stuff before with pretty disastrous results. This made such a huge difference! I had always assumed I was just bad at makeup before. But after just 1 year of practicing with “the nice stuff”, I’ve progressed SO much farther than all my years of occasional dabbling with cheap junk supplies from Walmart. nice supplies really do make all the difference. This stuff is worth every penny! I’ll never buy the generic crap again.

I purchased this product after extensively reviewing many other brands. I needed a bald cap to use on my fiancé, as I was transforming him into Mr. Gru from Despicable Me. When I searched for pre-made bald caps, I couldn’t find any that had extremely nice reviews, so I did some research on how to make my own bald cap. After following the directions on how to make a bald cap using liquid latex, the bald cap came out nearly perfect. The only issues with the cap came from using a styrofoam head as the platform to build the cap on. I highly recommend using a non-porous, smooth service to create a bald cap, otherwise it will leave small raised bumps all over the cap. Also, the only other thing I would have changed, would be to use a clear liquid latex instead of the soft beige, Only because it was a little harder to match the soft beige to his natural skin tone. Had I used clear liquid latex, I think it would have been easier to match his natural skin tone using make-up. I attached some photos to see his transformation from a full head of hair, to a naturally looking bald man. Also, if you are planning to use this product for creating a bald cap, make sure to also purchase spirit gum to hold it in place!

I saw in some reviews they did not receive the correct product. I took my chances and did receive the branded Mehron latex. Those reviews were several years ago so maybe that’s not an issue anymore. This was my first time working with liquid latex, and while I watched several how to videos, it was still pretty difficult to use with cotton to make a fake wound. Next time I’ll probably use prosthetics and use this liquid latex as more of a glue since it does seem to adhere very well without irritation!I think I just couldn’t move quickly enough to smooth out the surface before it dries. Maybe a larger paint brush would have worked, but in the moment I didn’t have time to go searching. There is a lot of product in this bottle! It has a nice consistency so it doesn’t drip down your face, however it doesn’t take much to make a wound. We made 4 large face wounds and hardly made a dent in the bottle. As long as it doesn’t dry out I could see using this for many halloween costumes to come. And, maybe by the time the bottle runs out I’ll have perfected my technique 😉
