This was everything I hoped it would be! You use these kind of like those kids water color paint palettes: get some water on a brush and agitate that into the dry makeup cake. This kit comes with a brush that’s nice for most general work, but you may prefer to invest in an assortment of brushes for detailed work or a larger brush or sponge for more broad application of product. This product dried very quickly on my skin, and I could mix the colors to meet my needs (but you might want to do that on a separate surface or on the mirror in the kit if you want to keep the color cakes pristine). On that note this palette does come with a very nice and very large mirror. I did a test of the makeup (I attached a photo) and wore it for an hour. I put makeup on my face and chest and just moving around the house the makeup held up well. Afterwards it washed off easily with soap and water as advertised. I have sensitive skin but had no reaction to this product.Some extra things to note:In addition to the Mehron makeup/paint in this look, I did achieve some shading with and eyeshadow on top of the dried paint (although some shading was done with the paint as well).I used eyeliner to line my eyes rather than bringing the face paint right up to my lashline, just to be safe.This look was sealed with a makeup setting spray.Despite setting the makeup, I would caution that this makeup is probably not the best for situations where you might be sweating a lot (like an outdoor fair) since sweat will break this makeup down (these are water activated paints/makeup).The instructions for this palette recommend to not use the red, yellow, or orange around the eyes and to not use the blue or green on the lips. To be safe it might be prudent to use regular cosmetics in those areas if you needs those colors. Option: At the time that I’m writing this NYX has a colorful eyeshadow palette called ULTIMATE in USP04 BRIGHTS that is pigmented and affordable (in my opinion).I recommend always testing the product before the particular event you are planning for if possible, just to make sure the product is compatible with your skin and works the way you want it to.Amazon experience: at the time I’m writing this Amazon is fulfilling the orders of this product. The first palette I received was completely busted and broken (shattered mirror and all). I called Amazon and they very quickly worked with me to fix the issue. The second palette they sent me was perfect.

I started learning to face-paint with Snazaroo paints and felt they were a little too hard to get a heavy, opaque color so I ordered this Mehron palette.I have attached two photos, one shows the difference between the Snazaroo black and red (top) and the Mehron black and red (bottom). The Mehron gives a much brighter, more opaque color with less layering needed.I have also included a photo of my arm with each color in the palette and I’m very happy with the shade and opacity of each color.I only ordered one Mehron palette with these basic colors because I wanted to make sure they were a higher quality paint than what I had been previously using and I will definitely be adding more Mehron colors to my makeup kit.

I ordered this to use for Halloween. In the past, I have used everything from the kits sold on the Halloween aisle at stores to the most elaborate kits I could find at Halloween and costume specialty shops. Those kits required tons of the product to produce any color, lead to a splotchy appearance and unwanted texture, and caused skin irritations almost immediately. Forget surviving a night of trick or treating, the makeup barely lasted a block. THIS PALETTE SOLVED ALL OF THOSE PROBLEMS!!I mainly used the colors on the eye area. The pigment was very intense with a light application and stayed on both of my kids for the 6 hours they were in costume with no fading or streaking. It was easy enough to remove. We used makeup remover wipes and then a mild face wash. All the makeup appeared to come off with just the wipes. The face wash was just to be thorough, because I was worried about irritation. Thankfully, they had no reactions to the makeup or removal of it. I would definitely recommend this pallet. I have zero complaints. My children loved the way it looked with their costumes. They got lots of compliments. It is easy to use for beginners, although I would advise having more brushes on hand. It comes with a tiny one, that’s excellent for details, but I definitely used my other brushes too. It’s also a lot of makeup, so I will be able to use it many more times.

I do SFX makeup as a hobby and semi-professionally (mostly around Halloween) and this pallet is great as a base. You can mix the colors to create pretty much any color you want which is very helpful when working with specific shades (for example: I did a Gamora from GOTG and she is a certain shade of green, but it was super easy to mix) All you need is water to work with them.Some tips are that once it dries it will stay for a long time, I’ve even slept with some on and it didn’t come off BUT if you will be wearing it out where there might be water, like if it is going to rain or something beware because water will wash it off or at least smear it.Also the less water you use the more opaque the color will be and the more water you use the lighter it will be. It all depends on the look you are going for but remember a little can go a long way.If you mess up, you can either use water on a paper towel or q-tip to wipe it off or if it is in a small area or something I would just wait for it to dry and then paint over it. you can pretty much paint over any color with any other color and it will be fine. So work in layers!!And most importantly have fun! This is a great pack for beginners and is super easy to work with. It even comes with a brush that is pretty nice quality!

Ooooh man let me tell you how twitter-patted I am with this make up. It’s light and didn’t affect my skin or eyes at all (Cuz hey I read the instructions and the “danger” colors didn’t go near my eyes). Once you figure out the water ratio you are unstoppable with the color!!!!…unless you mess up…and then it ever so politely comes off with q-tips or toilet paper. I have not experimented too much with shadowing but the layering is very precise and clean. I had to my Wolf FX paint set for the pink nose which they said don’t mix with other paints but hey my nose didn’t fall off so we’re nice. Haven’t used my Wolf Fx Paints to form a comparative analysis of the two but right now Mehron rocks my world!….but I tigress.To anyone feeling like they shouldn’t spend too much on face paints. Just slap yourself, then treat yourself. Have fun!Oh packaging…it arrived like it said, the paints weren’t used, and the mirror wasn’t cracked so top marks from me.
